Happy Rosh Hashanah from the Ninth Judicial Circuit State Attorneys Office! Wishing all who celebrate a joyful New Year! 🎉

Today, 54 year-old Eddy Noelsaint was sentenced to 30 years in prison on four counts of s*xual battery after he was convicted of repeatedly ra**ng a woman who trusted him for spiritual guidance.

This conviction and sentence highlights the Ninth Judicial Circuit’s State Attorney Office's aggressive pursuit of justice in s*x crimes cases.

“Since January, our prosecutors have secured convictions in 70% of the s*x crime cases brought to trial across Orange and Osceola counties,” said State Attorney Monique Worrell. “And since July, that conviction rate has climbed to 83%. Those numbers matter, but I want to be clear, these are not just numbers. Behind every case is a victim whose life has been changed forever. Behind every conviction is a survivor who made the courageous decision to come forward and seek justice, knowing exactly what that would cost them.”

Twenty-five years ago, our nation experienced an unimaginable tragedy when an act of terror changed our country forever.

Today, we pause to remember the lives so devastatingly lost. We honor the first responders, service members, and heroes who gave their lives to save others, and we remember the families who have carried this loss for 25 years.

This morning, The Ninth Judicial Circuit’s State Attorney’s Office joined the Orlando Police Department 9/11 remembrance ceremony to honor their memory.

We will never forget.
