On the final day of the State Attorney’s High School Internship Program, students stepped into the courtroom for a mock trial, putting everything they learned this week into practice.

All week, these students shadowed attorneys, sat in on courtroom proceedings, and explored what community-centered prosecution really looks like.

Congratulations to every student who participated in the Program!

We also thank the Orange County Bar Association for their partnership in this endeavor! We wouldn’t have been able to do this without you and all of our sponsors!

Today, we honor the legacy of resilience, strength, and an enduring fight for freedom.

On this day in 1865, enslaved people in Galveston, Texas learned what had already been promised to them more than two years before. Justice proclaimed is not always justice delivered, and the work of closing that gap continues.

The State Attorney’s Office of the Ninth Judicial Circuit celebrates Juneteenth and reaffirms our commitment to a legal system that is fair, equitable, and accountable to every member of our community.

The State Attorney’s High School Internship Program officially wrapped last week—and these students showed up ready.

Over the course of the week, they shadowed attorneys, sat in on courtroom proceedings, participated in a mock trial, and learned firsthand how community-centered prosecution works.

This is exactly the kind of investment that matters. The next generation of advocates, attorneys, and community leaders deserves to see themselves reflected in these spaces.

We also thank the OCBA Foundation for their partnership in this endeavor! We wouldn’t have been able to do this without you and all of our sponsors!

Stay tuned as we recap each day of the program. ⚖️ Orange County Bar Association

Ten years ago today, 49 beautiful lives were tragically lost at the Pulse nightclub. We remember each of them by name, by love, and by legacy.

The Office of the State Attorney remains committed to standing against hate in all its forms and to seeking justice on behalf of every person in Orange and Osceola Counties. We will never forget.

State Attorney Monique Worrell and office staff recently joined law enforcement leaders, elected officials, and community members at the 2026 Osceola County Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our communities.

We remember the fallen, honor their legacy, and extend our deepest gratitude to the families, friends, and colleagues who carry their memory forward. Their courage, commitment, and service will never be forgotten.

Today, our office recognizes Denim Day—a reminder that how someone dresses is never an excuse for sexual violence.

What started as a response to a harmful court ruling has become a global movement, calling out victim-blaming and standing in support of survivors everywhere.

We stand with survivors and remain focused on holding offenders accountable, supporting victims through the legal process, and working with our community partners to prevent these crimes before they happen.

We wear denim to raise awareness, but our commitment goes far beyond today.

This week, State Attorney Worrell spent time with students at Evans High School ahead of summer break, having real conversations about choices, accountability, and opportunity.

From navigating peer pressure and social media to understanding how the justice system works, the discussion focused on helping students think critically, make informed decisions, and recognize how quickly one choice can shape their path.

We appreciate Evans High School for welcoming the State Attorney's Office and giving us the opportunity to connect with students.
