The upcoming Orange County Board of County Commissioners meeting on Tuesday, September 15, includes several agenda items impacting District 4 and residents across Orange County.

Items include the Lake Mary Jane / Isle of Pines property project, transportation improvements related to developments along Boggy Creek Road, Lake Underhill Road and Orange Avenue, and an update on the Pluris Wedgefield Water & Wastewater System.

The afternoon session includes District 4 public hearings related to a petition to vacate, the Waterford Oaks Planned Development and the Parker Lone Palm Preliminary Subdivision Plan.

Afternoon Session & Public Hearings: 2:00 PM

The Central Florida Diaper Bank is hosting mobile diaper distributions throughout Orange County this September, including locations in and near our community. Families can receive diapers and hygiene products while supplies last, along with educational resources and connections to additional community services.

Distribution begins at 9 a.m., and registration ends at 10:30 a.m. Please arrive early.

Participants must be Orange County residents, children must be under age 3, and families may attend only one distribution site per month. Please review the graphic for the required documents and additional September locations.

Because of your time, generosity, and partnership, families in our community were able to receive food and support when they needed it.

Tomorrow morning, District 4 neighbors are invited to join us for a community food distribution at Friends Community Church.

Food will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. I’m grateful to Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, Advance Community Center, and Friends Community Church Orlando for partnering with us to help connect families with food and community resources.

International Overdose Awareness Day is Monday, August 31. Free Narcan kits, health screenings, testing, treatment resources and an Overdose Memorial will be available from 9 a.m.–2 p.m. at the Samaritan Resource Center.
