Community members interested in getting involved and helping shape these efforts are encouraged to participate. Please mark your calendars for the annual Veterans Stand Down event, a resource fair for veterans and their families, on January 21, 2026 at the Glenn County Fairgrounds in Orland (221 E. Yolo Street). The event, held from 10am to 2pm, offers our veterans the ability to “stand down” or not be in a state of readiness after giving their all in military service.

Glenn County Departments, local community partners, and veterans services agencies will come together to provide a service event for veterans and their families. Veterans can receive crucial services and community support such as housing, healthcare, clothing, meals, haircuts, employment assistance, and more at the event. Additional details to come.

The event honors veterans for their service – it’s a way to show gratitude and provide meaningful support.

Veterans and their families are encouraged to attend the event to receive support. The public is urged to share information about the event with the veterans in their lives and/or bring them. To become a volunteer or vendor, please contact Yasmin Caro (530) 865-6133 or [email protected]. Last date for vendor registration is January 9, 2026.

Event is for all veterans from all branches of the military, of any age, and their families. Veterans from outside of Glenn County are also welcome and encouraged to attend the event.
