Ducks Unlimited - Orland Park Chapter

Ducks Unlimited - Orland Park Chapter Orland Park Illinois Ducks Unlimited chapter was born in 1978. This chapter was founded by three very close hunting buddies. The event typically grosses $35,000.

These individuals were Bob Benson, John Ellis, and David Pankow (Pinky). They all grew up about 20 miles outside of Chicago and have been avid outdoors men. During the early 70s, they were losing the areas they were able to hunt because of urban sprawl. When they finally lost their hunting fields in Orland Park, they felt that they needed to do something to help protect the habit. In 1978, they co

ntacted Ducks Unlimited corporate headquarters. They put their application in to build a chapter and it was accepted. Through-out the years they hosted many events. Their main event is a fund raiser banquet, which is held annually in September. This event has, on average, draws 180 people. In 2014, the torch was passed on to new outdoors men to take over the chapter. With the new board members, they have continued the tradition of the annual banquet. However, they have also started an annual fun shoot. This even has been very successful and is now a tradition. Please like us and join us for the shoot or at the banquet!
