We are a volunteer based organization that provides members with useful training and skills to help better serve the community. This is a good way to spend free time and gain experience towards a community service position (Police/Fire Fighter). You will receive useful training that may be applied to your future career choice and the only thing we ask is that you participate in a majority of sched

uled local events and also be prepared to respond incase of natural disasters or emergencies. Duties:
Rehab work with Orland Fire (Set up rehabilitation tents to provide water and check vital signs to Fire Fighters that have just come out of a fire)
Traffic Control and Security for Various Events
First Aid
Provide Assistance In Natural Disasters

Training Includes:
First Aid
Search and Rescue
Handcuffs
Defensive Driving
Traffic Control
NIMS
Self Defense
FEMA Training
Storm Watching

A brief period of strong non-thunderstorm winds (due to a wake low) is developing on the back edge of the complex of thunderstorms. Winds are currently highest west of the Chicago metro (gusts up to 50 mph) and may continue to expand eastward with time across the rest of northern Illinois through midday prior to the next round of thunderstorms this afternoon.

There is a threat for strong (EF-2+) tornadoes across northern Illinois this afternoon between 4 and 8 PM. The highest threat will be in the dark red shaded area. This area has shifted farther south than previously forecast. Take tornado warnings seriously, and have multiple ways to get warning information today.
