📚 A Message to Our Library Community

It has come to my attention that information is being circulated regarding a very disturbing police call at the library this morning. I want to reassure our patrons and community that there was no disturbance at the CW Clark Memorial library this morning.

I understand that sometimes misinformation and misunderstandings can spread quickly, and I want everyone to know that the safety and security of our staff and patrons is always our number one priority.

I take the responsibility of providing a safe, welcoming space very seriously. My staff are committed to maintaining a comfortable environment where everyone can come to learn, read, connect, and enjoy everything the library has to offer.

There is a heaviness in the library community tonight as we think about the loss of Dolly Parton and the incredible legacy she has created through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. 💔📚

For so many libraries, including ours, Dolly’s Imagination Library has been about so much more than receiving a free book in the mail. It has been about putting a book into a child’s hands and telling them, “You matter. Your imagination matters. Your future matters.”

The Imagination Library helps build a love of reading from the very beginning. Those books become bedtime stories, favorite characters, treasured memories, and sometimes the very first step toward a lifelong relationship with books and libraries.

As a library, we see every day how important early literacy is. A child who grows up surrounded by books is being given more than words on a page—they are being given opportunities to learn, dream, explore, ask questions, and imagine possibilities far beyond their little corner of the world. ❤️

Dolly has always understood something incredibly important: you don’t have to wait until a child can read to make them a reader. You start by giving them books. You read together. You make reading special. You let them fall in love with stories.

We are incredibly grateful for the impact the Imagination Library has had on children and families in our community and across the country. Dolly’s legacy will live on in the millions of little hands that have held those books and the countless imaginations that have been sparked because of them. 📖✨

It’s officially time! Our School Supply Swap starts TODAY and runs through August 22 during regular library hours! 📚❤️

If your child needs school supplies, stop by and see what we have available! Take what you need to help get those backpacks ready for the new school year. 🎒✏️📓

One type of supply per child, while supplies last.

We’re so happy to be able to offer this to our community and help make back-to-school season a little easier for local families. 💙

Today’s the day! Bring your stuffed buddies for a check up!

🧸 Teddy Bear Clinic is Coming to the Library! 🩺

Uh-oh… the Fluff Bug is making stuffed animals feel sleepy and droopy! Bring your favorite teddy bear or stuffed friend to our Teddy Bear Clinic for a fun, hands-on check-up with Madison County Public Health.

Kids will enjoy:
🧸 A teddy bear check-up
💉 A pretend “Fluff Bug vaccine” (for stuffed animals only!)
📋 A vaccination card for their furry friend
🎨 Coloring and healthy habits activities
👩‍⚕️ Meeting real public health nurses
