Good Afternoon, Oriental! The Town Board was scheduled to meet Thursday, June 25, 9AM to continue with the Budget Public Hearing and has slid that meeting to FRIDAY, JUNE 26, 9AM, hoping that the General Assembly will have gotten its bills through and finished, so we can enact a full Fiscal Year Budget.

Just a friendly reminder that we will not be picking up yard debris until after the July 4th holiday. Please do not place debris at the curb at this time.
If you need to dispose of yard debris, please take it to the Green Waste Dumpsters on Gilgo Road.
Our Public Works crew is busy preparing the town for a safe and enjoyable Fourth of July weekend, and we appreciate your patience and understanding while they focus on those preparations.

6/22/26 @ 715AM – Make sure you stay weather aware today ENC! We continue to monitor a conditional threat for a few strong thunderstorms as showers and thunderstorms approach from the west this evening. The strongest storms would bring a damaging wind threat. Expect the threat to peak between 7PM and 2AM. Will note coverage will be isolated in nature so expect showers and storms to be hit or miss.

Storms from the remnants of TS Arthur have weakened, moved offshore, and the severe threat has ended. A cold front will cross ENC between 6–10 PM, bringing isolated showers and thunderstorms. A few storms may produce gusty winds but are expected to remain below severe limits.

Kick off the summer Oriental-style with Silospalooza 2026. Now in its 13th year, the outdoor music event is Saturday, June 20.
On Saturday, music starts at Noon and runs til late. Playing on the Red Rooster stage:

BBQ plates served outside at the Red Rooster bar all day. Beer and wine available at the Red Rooster bar. Bring a chair and your dancing shoes…. and get yourself this year’s Silospalooza t-shirt. Entry is free, food and drinks available for purchase on-site or from The Silos.
