We want to send a big thank you to Gunderson Funeral Home for dropping off food at the police department! Keeping our officers well-fed definitely helps keep them on their toes (and maybe a little less โ€œhangryโ€ on calls).

We appreciate the kindness, support, and full stomachs!!

A Message to Our Community as the Storm Approaches

Weโ€™re expecting strong storms later today, and we want everyone to be as prepared as possible. A few quick reminders:

Fully charge your phones and backup batteries

Bring pets and loose outdoor items inside

Have flashlights, blankets, and water ready

Stay off the roads during high winds or heavy rain

Check in with elderly neighbors or anyone who may need help

OPD will be out there with you every step of the way. If you need assistance at any point during the storm, we will be available and ready to help.

Stay safe, everyone.

We are proud to recognize Officer Onheiber on his 2-year anniversary with the Oregon Police Department ๐ŸŽ‰

In just a short time, Officer Onheiber has become a cornerstone of our second shift. As our most senior officer on our afternoon shift, he helps set the tone leading by example, staying composed under pressure, and is always someone others can rely on when it matters most.

Beyond patrol, heโ€™s taken on critical roles that strengthen our department from within. As an armorer, he ensures our officers are equipped safely and properly. As a drone pilot, he helps from the air with search and rescue missions, locating fleeing suspects, and providing situational awareness to officers with boots on the ground in a variety of situations.

With Officer Onheiber, it isnโ€™t just the roles he fills, itโ€™s the consistency and professionalism he brings to every shift. Heโ€™s the kind of officer who makes those around him better.

Thank you, Officer Onheiber, for your dedication, your work ethic, and the impact youโ€™ve made in just two years. Weโ€™re proud to have you on our team and look forward to many more ahead!
