Holt County Rural Water (PWSD No. 1) is still under a boil advisory. This is not a mandatory boil order but it is advised. The advisory will be lifted as soon as we receive the results from the water samples sent in and they are safe. It normally takes 24 hours to get the results. If everything goes as predicted, the order will be lifted tomorrow. I will post as soon as I know.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this boil advisory causes. Our goal is to provide safe water to all rural residents. Unfortunately, this means boil advisories are necessary on occasion.

Coronavirus and Drinking Water and Wastewater

There is no higher priority for EPA than protecting the health and safety of Americans. EPA is providing this important information about COVID-19 as it relates to drinking water and wastewater to provide clarity to the public. The COVID-19 virus has not been detected in drinking-water supplies. Based on current evidence, the risk to water supplies is low. Americans can continue to use and drink water from their tap as usual. EPA also encourages the public to help keep household plumbing and our nation’s water infrastructure operating properly by only flushing toilet paper. Disinfecting wipes and other items should be disposed of in the trash, not the toilet.

Information and frequent questions related to COVID-19 and drinking water and wastewater.
