Children's Center

Children's Center Work with the community to end child abuse and neglect through assessment, treatment, and prevention.

Children’s Center is a private, non-profit child abuse intervention center accredited by the National Children’s Alliance. Each year, Children’s Center conducts medical examinations and interviews for more than 400 Clackamas County children who are suspected victims of abuse and neglect—while providing resources, referrals, or other support to more than 300 additional families. Families are never

billed for services at Children’s Center. Medical insurance and government grants account for approximately 60% of our funding. The remaining costs associated with medically assessing and supporting who are suspected victims of child abuse and neglect are covered by generous donors.

We are excited to share an incredible, limited-time opportunity to double your impact in support of Children’s Center!

Child abuse impacts more than 3,000 children and families in Clackamas County each year. At Children’s Center, we provide critical medical care, forensic interviews, family advocacy, therapy, and prevention education to over 500 children annually, all at no cost to the families we serve.

Thanks to the generosity of Barbara Ghrist, every gift made by June 30 will be matched dollar for dollar up to $10,000.

That means your donation will go twice as far to help children and families impacted by abuse and neglect feel safe, supported, and begin their healing journey.

Join us in making twice the impact today by visiting www.childrenscenter.cc/match.

Thank you to Barbara Ghrist for her generosity and continued support of healing and hope for children in our community! 💜

Todd V, our Facility Dog, has been settling in wonderfully during his three-month introduction period at Children’s Center! 🐾💙

So far, Todd has participated in more than a dozen assessments, attended five MDT Case Reviews, hung out with his best pal Nacho, and welcomed Board Members during meetings and social gatherings.

Todd’s calming presence is helping children feel more comfortable, brave, and supported as they share their experiences. In addition to forensic interviews, Todd now joins therapy sessions weekly alongside his handler, Jessica, providing plenty of professional snuggles on bean bags and chairs during sessions.

We are so grateful for the comfort, connection, and smiles Todd brings to Children’s Center every day!

Our Prevention Team recently completed a training series with the Student and Family Services Team at North Clackamas Schools, and we were incredibly touched by their generous gift of several Timbi Talks sets from our wish list!

Timbi Talks science-based, trauma-informed resource designed to help children and families understand addiction, strengthen emotional regulation, and foster prevention through connection and healing. The set comes with the Timbi Talks story book and coloring book, a large Timbi Plush, a Tiny Timbi, a 4-pack of Crayons, and a Timbi Sticker.

These are such a great resource, and we are so touched by this thoughtful gift for the children and families we serve.

Children's Center was recently awarded a grant from Lithia4Kids! Alongside 10 other organizations, Lithia4Kids awarded a total of $25,000 to support programs serving children and families in our community. This generosity helps ensure that every child we serve is met with the respect, dignity, and care they deserve. It reminds them, and us, that healing is possible, and that hope is never out of reach.

We are deeply grateful to Lithia & Driveway for investing in our therapy program, supporting children impacted by abuse and neglect as they build resilience. Partnerships like this one make a profound difference. Together, we reduce the long-term effects of trauma and provide a safe, compassionate space where kids can begin to heal. 💙
