Digital violence has real-world impacts on survivors. Many survivors of intimate partner violence, sexual violence, stalking and human trafficking have experienced some component of their abuse through the use of technology or digital platforms. Technology-facilitated interpersonal violence is the systematic use of abuse tactics committed, assisted, aggravated or amplified in part or fully using technology, with the goal to gain and maintain power and control. We know that technology-facilitated abuse impacts survivors’ safety, sense of security, and more.

We are here to help. If you or someone you know have experienced domestic or sexual violence, stalking, or trafficking, please call our 24-hr crisis and support line at 503-654-2288. A confidential advocate will always answer and can help safety plan, connect to resources, and more.

In recognition of Immigrant Heritage Month, we acknowledge the courage it takes to leave behind everything you know to start anew in a different country & culture. Immigrant Heritage Month is a celebration held every June to honor and recognize the contributions and diverse cultures of immigrants to the country. This celebration helps raise awareness about the importance of immigrants and fosters a more inclusive and diverse society, encouraging communities to celebrate the rich tapestry of cultures and stories brought by immigrants and highlights the shared values and dreams that unite people.

There are also unique challenges that immigrant survivors of domestic and sexual violence face: fear of deportation, lack of language access, limited culturally-specific resources, discrimination, and many other barriers. These factors can leave immigrant survivors at greater risk of violence and abuse.

At CWS, we work to meet the needs of survivors by having services available in several languages, and we utilize translators for other languages.

Remember that we are here for you, regardless of immigration status, gender, or age to ensure anyone escaping or healing from interpersonal violence can access the resources they deserve. Learn more about our services here: https://www.cwsor.org/connect-to-services/

In recent days, our community has experienced a heartbreaking loss.

Three lives were taken in an act of domestic violence, leaving family members, friends, neighbors, and loved ones grieving.

We have taken time to pause, reflect, and honor those whose lives were lost and all who are carrying the weight of this tragedy.

We join our community in mourning and hold all those affected in our hearts.

Domestic violence is not a private issue. Its impact reaches far beyond a single household, affecting families, friendships, workplaces, schools, and entire communities.

As an organization dedicated to ending domestic and sexual violence and a member of our local community, these moments are especially difficult. We know that behind every headline is a person whose life mattered, people who loved them, and a community forever changed by their loss.

As we grieve alongside our community, we recommit ourselves to the work of breaking the isolation of domestic and sexual violence and creating pathways to safety, healing, and hope.

To those who are hurting, fearful, or concerned about someone they love: support is available.

You are not alone.
