π₯ **Wildfire Season Is Here β And We're Ready. Are You?**
Your Orderville Volunteer Fire Department crews have been hard at work preparing for wildfire season: training on wildland fire tactics, maintaining equipment, and working with our partners to reduce fuels and protect our community. When the call comes, we'll be ready.
But wildfire preparedness is a team effort β and you're part of the team. Here's how you can help:
π **Create defensible space** β clear dry brush, leaves, and debris at least 30 feet from your home.
π **Pack a go-bag** β medications, documents, water, and essentials, ready to grab if evacuation is ordered.
π± **Sign up for emergency alerts** β know how you'll get the word if conditions change.
π **Plan your evacuation route** β and a backup. Talk it through with your family now, not when smoke is in the air.
π₯ **Know the restrictions** β check current fire restrictions before any burning or campfires.
Most wildfires are human-caused, which means most are preventable. One spark is all it takes.
Stay alert. Stay prepared. Your neighbors on the OVFD have your back. π
