The Orchard Park Democratic Committee is starting the Petition process to help get Democrats on the Ballot for the 2026 Election.
We have many outstanding candidates that we are looking to help get on the ballot – from US House of Representatives NY 23 to County Legislator in District 11 to Members of the Local County Committee. This is the first step in helping Orchard Park be part of the next Blue Wave!

FILSINGER PULLS TO WITHIN 5 VOTES OF TOWN BOARD WIN

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Orchard Park Democratic Committee announced today that Democratic candidate Paul Filsinger has pulled to within five votes of Republican candidate Greg Bennett following the counting of absentee ballots. The updated totals now stand at Bennett 3,288 and Filsinger 3,283.

Absentee and affidavit ballots will continue to be received and counted over the coming days in accordance with state election law. Given the razor-thin margin and ongoing ballot count, any declarations of victory by the Bennett campaign or the Orchard Park Republican Committee at this stage are premature, inappropriate, and irresponsible.

“This is a close and competitive race, and every vote deserves to be counted,” said Conor Flynn, chair of the Orchard Park Democratic Committee. “Paul Filsinger and our campaign volunteers have tremendous respect for the democratic process and the voters of Orchard Park. We remain confident that the final certified results will reflect the will of the community, and we believe that we have a clear path to victory based on outstanding absentees and affidavits.”

The Committee urges patience as the Erie County Board of Elections continues its careful and transparent work to ensure that all ballots are properly counted.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Orchard Park Democratic Committee announced that the two town board races remain too close to call as of Tuesday night.

“We are awaiting the results from Election District One, which is one of our two Democratic stronghold districts in the village of Orchard Park,” said Committee Chair Conor Flynn. “Those votes, along with absentee ballots, will determine the final outcome.”

Paul Filsinger currently trails by 71 votes, and Braiden McElhany is down by 309 votes.

The Committee also acknowledged the efforts of Marie Mahon and Keith Jarosz who ran strong, well-organized campaigns against well-funded and well-known opponents. The Committee looks forward to Mahon taking on a larger leadership role with the Town Democratic Party to get young working families involved with their local government.

Final results from Election District One are expected from the Board of Elections tomorrow morning.

More campaign material displayed prominently at the Orchard Park Senior Center, which is illegal. Those responsible must be held accountable. Orchard Park residents work too hard for their paychecks to have their tax dollars wasted on personal political campaigns.
