🎉 Congratulations to Cassandra Prasad, the Friends of the Orchard Park Public Library Scholarship Winner! 🎉

We are proud to recognize Cassandra, a graduating Orchard Park High School student, as this year’s scholarship recipient. This fall, she will begin an exciting new chapter at Brigham Young University (BYU)! 📚✨

Cassandra's essay beautifully captured the importance of libraries in our community. She wrote:

“The library is a conduit through which people can access ‘portals.’ Portals through time that teach lessons through history.”

She also reflected on the library’s role as a welcoming place for all:

“The library is also fully accessible. It’s a free institution that welcomes all people. It’s this accessibility that makes it an indispensable foundation of the Orchard Park community. The library brings the Orchard Park community together and is a place that transcends boundaries to create a safe place for everyone.”

Cassandra's thoughtful words remind us why libraries matter so deeply — as places of learning, connection, and belonging.

Meet the Creative Trio! 🌿

Linda, Carol-Jo and Jean met up at the Orchard Park Public Library to create a beautiful window display highlighting two can't-miss community events:

🌱 Annual Plant Sale on Saturday, May 16, 8am-2pm at the historic Train Depot. A beloved Orchard Park tradition since 1977; almost half a century of plants, people, and community!

🚂 Great Train Race on Friday, June 13
A fun run along the Rails to Trails pathway, starting at The Orchard Park Train Depot. After the race, find us outside the library ready to plant your running shoes. You bring the shoes and we provide the soil and the plants!

The OP Garden Club and the OP Public Library have been partners for nearly five decades. Decorating that display case is one of our favorite traditions.
Come see it in person. Then join us May 16 and June 13! 🌸

Registration for Orchard Park Public Library's June Teen Book Boxes is open NOW - May 15th! If you haven’t done our Book Box program before - it's simple! Ever heard of subscription services like “OwlCrate” or “Book of the Month?” Our Book Boxes are a lot like that… but FREE!

Enjoy a box full of library books hand-picked for you and packaged up with snacks and other surprises! Return the box and the books after three weeks, but keep everything else!

Pickup for the June Book Boxes will be the first week of June (June 1st - 8th). Sign up by visiting us in person or filling out a form at https://forms.gle/2SUzexysFgtSr7uaA
