Due to the upcoming lake effect snow storm and strong winds which are expected to create whiteout conditions, I am issuing a Travel Advisory for all of Erie County as of 10 PM tonight. Please limit all unnecessary travel, but if you must go, exercise caution on the roads and make sure your vehicle has a winter emergency kit.

12/29/2025

A Travel Advisory has been issued for all of Erie County beginning at 11:00 AM today, Monday December 29.

High winds and blowing snow are expected to create near-whiteout conditions across the area as a multi-day lake-effect winter storm system crosses Western New York.

Residents are advised to avoid travel if possible. If travel is unavoidable, be sure your vehicle is prepared for winter driving and has a winter survival kit inside.
