Thank you to UGI for coming to Mount Union Fire Company and providing training on gas lines, safety procedures and many other processes and procedures that fire companies should be aware of. Additionally we would like thank Orbisonia Rockhill Station 9 for attending as well.

First Multi Company Mutual Aid Training Event

What a great day of mutual aid pump training with
Three Springs Vol Fire Company
Mount Union Fire Company
Shade Gap Area Volunteer Fire Company
Paoli Fire Company members.

Today was the first ever training of this magnitude with all four mutual aid fire companies and it was a complete success. Members of each fire department came together on Thursday April 23rd either in person or by online teams at the Orbisonia Rockhill Vol. Fire Company to discuss and plan out today's hands on operations. The goals were simple for the event,
Provide the opportunity for current pump operators to refresh their skills while also encouraging upcoming or new operators a chance to learn new skills using a condensed version of pump 1 & 2.
Discuss and illustrate basic pump hydraulics and calculations.
Discuss & illustrate the site layout with google maps.
Demonstrate drafting procedures.
Demonstrate relay operations
Demonstrate a master stream using an aerial device.
Discuss nozzle pressures.
Discuss engine pressures (intake and discharge).
Discuss the layout and what to expect for Saturday’s hands on activity.
Provide junior FF’s a chance to participate.
Establish a matrix for Saturday
We hope to build upon this event and use it as a templet for future training ideas.
