🚚 Behind the Scenes at the Food Bank! 📦

Our truck is here, and another busy day is underway! Our team collects food donations from our generous grocery store partners and brings them back to the Food Bank for unloading. 🥫🍎

Next, every donation is carefully weighed and recorded. ⚖️📋 From there, our volunteers sort the items by category so they’re organized and ready for distribution to local families. 💛

It takes an incredible team to keep this process moving, and we’re so thankful for each of our hardworking volunteers! ✨

Have you heard? Our 7th Annual Community Food Drive is happening October 17! 🥫

Each year, our Food Bank serves more than 40,000 individuals. This Food Drive is one of the biggest ways we stock our shelves and prepare to support local families and neighbors through the winter and holiday season.

Drop off non-perishable food items on Saturday, October 17, from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Divine Savior Catholic Church (9079 Greenback Lane). Peanut butter, cereal, and pasta sauce are some of our greatest needs.

🛍️ Plastic Bags Needed! 🛍️

Got a stash of plastic bags at home that you aren’t using? We can put them to good use! 🧡

Our Food Bank needs clean, reusable plastic grocery bags to help us pack and distribute food to our neighbors each week.

Instead of throwing those extra bags away, give them another purpose and help us keep food moving into the hands of local families. 🥫🍎🥕

📍 Drop off your bags at our Food Bank: 6483 Main Ave., Orangevale

🕗 Donation Hours: Mondays–Fridays: 8:30 AM–12:30 PM, Wednesdays: 4–6 PM (Note: We are closed Monday, September 7, for Labor Day.)

Can’t make it during our regular donation hours? Donation bins are located at our front entrance for convenient after-hours drop-offs.

July at our Food Bank brought summer warmth, community spirit, and lots of hands making a difference. ☀️🧡

Last month we served 1,460 families, representing 3,798 people. Of those, 119 families were new to us — and a reminder of how many neighbors are reaching out for help. Our team of 153 volunteers generously served 1,380 hours to help keep the doors open, the pantries stocked, and the smiles going. 😊

From Farm Camp visitors brightening our pantry bags to volunteers keeping things moving, we had a month full of small moments that add up to big support for our neighbors. We hosted our third Bingo night of the year, and our annual Lawyers vs. Hunger matching donation campaign kicked off and runs now through October 9. 🎉

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to the donors, volunteers, groups, and neighbors who make this work possible. 🌟

We had a blast welcoming the summer Farm Camp kids from the Food Bank Farm of Orangevale & Fair Oaks for special behind-the-scenes tours of our Food Bank! 🌱☀️

During their visits, the kids learned how our Food Bank helps neighbors and supports our community. They even decorated some pantry bags for our clients, adding colorful and thoughtful touches that brought smiles to those who received them! 😊

We loved sharing a glimpse of our work with these young visitors and can’t wait to do it again next summer! ✨💛
