🚨 ORANGEBURG DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY 🚨

It's 8:00 PM... Do You Know Where Your Children Are?

Every evening, families play the most important role in keeping our community safe.

Take a moment to:
πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§ Know where your children are.
πŸ“± Know who they are with.
🏑 Make sure they are home safely or where they are supposed to be.
πŸ’¬ Talk with them about making good choices and avoiding dangerous situations.
πŸ“ Stay involved in their activities and encourage positive friendships.

A few minutes of communication can prevent hours of worry.

Parents and guardians, your presence matters.
Working together, we can reduce juvenile crime, increase neighborhood safety, and build a stronger Orangeburg.

If you see suspicious activity, report it immediately.
πŸ“ž For emergencies, call 911.
πŸ“ž For non-emergencies, contact the Orangeburg Department of Public Safety (803-534-2812)

Today marked an incredible start to the Orangeburg Department of Public Safety Mentoring Matters & Rose Academy Summer Camp! β˜€οΈπŸ’™

Our students began the day with words of encouragement, wisdom, and inspiration from Chief Charles P. Austin Sr., who spoke about leadership, responsibility, education, and believing in yourself even when life gets challenging. His message reminded our youth that greatness is possible when discipline, character, and determination come together.

Mentoring Matters is more than a summer program, it's about building confidence, creating positive relationships, exposing youth to new opportunities, and showing them that their community cares deeply about their future. Seeing our students engaged, smiling, learning, and supporting one another on Day 1 was a powerful reminder of why this program matters so much.

We are excited for a summer filled with mentorship, growth, educational experiences, leadership development, and unforgettable memories. Thank you to everyone who continues to invest in our youth and help make programs like this possible.

The future is bright in Orangeburg. πŸ’™πŸ‘

Firefighters from the Orangeburg City Fire Department recently trained alongside the Orangeburg County Office of Emergency Services on the use of grain bin rescue panels. These panels are designed to assist in grain engulfment emergencies, helping first responders rescue trapped victims. The training was conducted by the Clemson Extension Agricultural Safety Program and provided valuable hands-on training and information for these types of emergencies.
