🇺🇸 Today, we pause to remember.

On the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, the City of Orangeburg joins our nation in honoring the nearly 3,000 lives lost, the first responders who courageously answered the call, and the families whose lives were forever changed.

As we reflect on this solemn day and the spirit of unity that followed, Mayor Michael C. Butler shares the following message of remembrance, service, and hope on behalf of the City of Orangeburg.

Reminder: Deadline to apply for the Fall Mentoring Matters/Rose Academy is TOMORROW. 👇👇👇

We are excited to share that Mentoring Matters and Rose Academy will continue this fall!

Mentoring Matters serves youth ages 10–13, while Rose Academy serves ages 14–16. Both programs will officially begin on Saturday, September 26, 2026.

Applications will be available beginning Friday, August 28, at noon. The deadline to apply is Friday, September 11, at 5 p.m.

If you know a young person who could benefit from encouragement, guidance, and positive mentorship, please help us spread the word.

We’re excited to share that the Fall Sports Jamboree is happening this Saturday! Come out and support our young athletes as they hit the fields, show off their skills, and kick off another exciting season of sports.

Bring the family, cheer on our athletes, and enjoy a great day of recreation and community!

We’ll see you at the fields! 🏆

🇺🇸 City Offices Closed for Labor Day 🇺🇸

In observance of Labor Day, City of Orangeburg administrative offices will be closed.

City offices will reopen on Tuesday, September 8 at 8:00 AM.

We wish our employees, residents, and community a safe and enjoyable Labor Day as we recognize the hardworking individuals whose contributions help keep our city and communities moving forward.

It is with heavy hearts that the Orangeburg Department of Public Safety mourns the tragic loss of Columbia Police Department Officer Chris DeLong, who was killed in the line of duty today while serving and protecting his community.

We also continue to lift Officer David Dymock in our thoughts as he recovers from his injuries, and we extend our deepest sympathies to Officer DeLong's family, Chief Skip Holbrook, and every member of the Columbia Police Department during this incredibly difficult time.
