Alzheimer's and dementia touch so many families, and no one should have to walk that road alone. This September, we are joining communities everywhere for World Alzheimer's Month, with World Alzheimer's Day recognized on the 21st, to stand together in awareness, support, and understanding.

To every caregiver showing up with patience and love, and to every family navigating this journey, please know our community is here for you. We at OCCOA are working on an educational speaker session to support local families, and we will share details as soon as they are confirmed.

This Healthy Aging Month, we are reminded that healthy aging does not require big, dramatic changes. It is built one small, steady step at a time, and those steps are easier with people in your corner.

Here are a few simple ways to start:
▪️ Move your body in a way that feels good in our free fitness center
▪️ Enjoy balanced, nutritious meals
▪️ Make new friends in our arts and crafts class
▪️ Join our Zumba class at 9:15 on Tuesdays and Thursdays to help keep your body and mind sharp
▪️ Ask for help when you need it, because that is a strength

• Leading an art or craft activity
• Teaching a favorite project or skill
• Helping with seasonal decorations
• Inspiring others to create and connect
