Paid parking time limits have been extended! 🍊🚘 We heard your feedback about the paid parking time limits and we made some changes.

All City paid parking areas in Old Towne have one additional hour added to the time limit. This update is designed to give everyone a little more flexibility when visiting local businesses, dining, or enjoying downtown.

⏰ All on-street parking in the paid parking area will now have a time limit of 3 hours.

⏰ All paid City lots will now have a time limit of 4 hours.

Stay cool, Orange! 😎 The rest of this week will be very toasty, with an Extreme Heat Warning in effect through 8 p.m. tonight, followed by a Heat Advisory through 8 p.m. tomorrow, Sept. 10. 🔥🥵

In the City of Orange, the Sports Center at Grijalva Park is available as a designated cooling center from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Our Orange Public Library branches and the Orange Senior Center also serve as designated cooling centers. ❄️ You can drop in during normal operating hours to enjoy the air conditioning and beat the heat.

☀️ Remember to drink plenty of fluids and stay out of the sun!

The City of Orange Tenant-Based Rental Assistance (TBRA) Program is looking to connect eligible households with available rental housing in the City of Orange.

If you have available or upcoming rental units and would like your property to be considered for our list of available housing options for TBRA participants, we want to hear from you!

💰 TBRA may provide eligible households with:
• Security deposit assistance of up to one month’s contract rent
• Utility deposit assistance of up to $500

📋 Participating rental units must meet applicable program requirements, including housing quality standards, rent reasonableness, and other program requirements.

🇺🇸 Nomination Period for Write-In Candidates 🇺🇸
Sept. 7 to Oct. 20, 2026

The filing period for write-in candidates for eligible offices in the Nov. 3, 2026 General Municipal Election begins on Monday, Sept. 7 and ends at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 20.

⭐️ Filing Information
Nomination papers for write-in candidates will be made available by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, please contact the City Clerk’s Office at (714) 744-5500. Individuals who did not file a Declaration of Candidacy and complete the requirements to have their name placed on the ballot may run as write-in candidates. Write-in votes will be counted and certified in the Statement of Vote only for qualified write-in candidates who file all required forms with the City Clerk no later than 14 days before Election Day.

Write-in candidates are subject to the same requirements as other candidates with regard to disclosure of economic interests and campaign disclosure (Gov. Code Section 82007; Elections Code Section 305).

Protecting our community starts with listening.

After an East Orange resident raised concerns about wildfire evacuation and planning, the City responded. Mayor Dan Slater, Councilmember Jon Dumitru, and representatives from our Fire and Police departments recently met with the resident to hear those concerns and kick off the process of updating the evacuation plan for East Orange.

This was an initial meeting—and just the beginning.

📣 Do you have questions about Measures I, J, or K?

Orange voters will consider three local measures as part of the Nov. 3, 2026 General Municipal Election. To help community members learn more about the measures before Election Day, the City of Orange will host a series of informational community presentations.

Residents are encouraged to attend to learn more about each measure, the issues they are intended to address, and what their potential impacts could be for the City and the community. Attendees will also have an opportunity to ask questions and receive additional information.
