Valley Class of 70 Mini Reunion--January 12, 2023--Krug’s Tavern in the Ironbound Section of Newark. Krug’s won the "NJ’s Best Burger contest”. Most of us had a burger!

Calling all local (or not) 1970 classmates. The reunion committee is getting together for dinner at Libretti's on Wednesday. September 14. We would like to invite any classmates who want to join us for dinner. Please either reply here or send me a message on Messenger if you plan on coming. Please respond by September 2 so I can give Libretti's a headcount. We would love to see you there!

Attention...Attention....Attention....
The reunion venue has changed. It is now going to be held at Libretti’s Restaurant up the street from the Valley Church. We ran into problems with Rock Spring Country Club and decided Libretti’s was a better option!! Also note, we need to know who is coming so we can finalize the numbers for Librettis Orange.

OLVHS Class of 1970 “50+1” Reunion:

As we had planned last year--before COVID hit, we will be using FaceBook to pass along information/ updates about the reunion. Since everyone doesn’t use FaceBook, we’re also going to pass information via snail mail, email, and telephone.

To allow us to do this, we need all classmates to update their emails, phone numbers and home addresses. Contact Kathleen Shaughnessy-Conway ASAP to update your contact information and to advise the committee of your intentions regarding reunion attendance. Kathy’s email address is: [email protected]. If you don’t use email, you can FaceBook message Kathy or call her at 973-953-7595.

Here’s the Plan:
• The reunion date is set: Saturday, October 2, 2021.
• The event will be held at the Rock at Rock Spring Golf Club, 90 Rock Spring Rd, West Orange, NJ 07052.
• There will be a cocktail hour with an appetizer table beginning at 6PM.
• Dinner will be a buffet, including dessert.
• Water, soda, beer and wine will be included in the price. (There will be a cash bar available for other drinks.)
• We are considering options for entertainment (DJ/Music, Photo Booth, etc.).
• At this point, we anticipate the event will end around 10PM.

• The cost to attend is $110 per person. We can accept Venmo, PayPal, Zelle or the Cash app. You can also pay by check (if you are paying with a check, you’ll need to contact Kathy Shaughnessy-Conway for details on how to do this...her contact information was provided above).
o Final payments are due no later than August 16, 2021.

We hope you are all as excited, as we are to have this long awaited reunion.

Hope to see you all on October 2nd.

The OLVHS Class of 70 Reunion Committee met this evening (via Zoom ;-). Due to the COVID-19 situation, the committee decided to postpone the 50-Year Reunion that was scheduled for October 17, 2020 at the Rock Spring Country Club). We will continue to monitor the situation over the coming months. At this point, we plan to reschedule the reunion sometime next year (date TBD).

Valley Class of 1970 50-Year Reunion Update

Your Reunion Committee met again on Monday, October 7, 2019 and set the date and the venue for next years’ event.

Date/Time of the Reunion:
October 17, 2020/6PM – 11PM (Cocktail hour 6PM – 7PM)

Rock Spring Golf Club
90 Rock Spring Road
West Orange, NJ 07052

Here’s what we have so far…Anticipated cost is $100 per person. The price includes cocktail hour hors d’oeuvres, buffet dinner, water/soft drinks/wine/beer at the table, and entertainment (either a band or a DJ and other entertainment to be determined). There will also be pay-as-you-go bar(s) for those who like stronger drinks.

The committee is also looking into hotel prices in the local area for those who will need a place to crash.

The committee will continue to work reunion details for the foreseeable—updates to follow as we have them.
