The Field doesn't appear by itself.

Behind more than 1,200 flags are neighbors who show up. They unload. They unwrap. They pound rebar. They clean poles. They carry, they straighten and they watch over the Field.

And when the week is over, they help us carefully take it all down again.

This is your invitation to be one of them. Volunteer for the Orange Field of Valor and help create one of our community's most meaningful traditions.

Faces of the Field.

Behind every flag is a person.

Behind every person is a story.

And behind every story is someone who remembers.

Today we are honored to introduce you to Corporal Richard (Dick) Meadows. Corporal Meadows served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. Dick served as a Company Runner & Mortar Man. His battles were fought in Tarawa, Saipan, Tinian, Okinawa and Occupation Forces in Nagasaki, Japan. Dick dropped out of high school to join his 2 older brothers already serving in the Marines. All 3 were in combat at the same time in the Pacific Theater. Dick was married to the love of his life for 69 years. They corresponded for 18 months while he was overseas, having never met.

This November, a flag will fly at the Orange Field of Valor in honor of Dick's service and sacrifice.

This is why we remember.

Who will you honor?

Their service deserves more than our gratitude. It deserves to be remembered.

Honor a Veteran, active-duty service member or someone who gave their life in service to our country with a flag at the 2026 Orange Field of Valor.

Each full-sized American flag will stand proudly at Handy Park with a personalized tribute sharing the story of the person you choose to honor.

You can include their branch of service, years served, medals, special memories and photographs. You do not need to have complete information about their service to honor them. You can submit flag tributes anytime between now and Nov. 11th.

Flag sponsorships are $35 for one year, or $90 for three years. One flag honors one individual.

Then, this November, bring your family to the Field and find their flag among more than 1,200 others. (Don't worry, we'll help you find it!)

Honor their service. Preserve their story. Let our community remember.

Join our community this November as we come together to honor courage, service and sacrifice.

The Field will be open November 7 at 9 am through noon on November 12.

Marine Corps Birthday. All Marines and their families are invited to attend and share a piece of Marine Corps Birthday Cake.

Overnight security will be provide to ensure the utmost respect for the flags.

The Field is returning. For six unforgettable days, Handy Park in Orange will be transformed into a breathtaking display of more than 1,200 American flags.

But what makes this Field truly extraordinary isn't the number of flags. It's the stories behind them.

Each flag carries a personal tribute to a Veteran or service member--a name, a life, a sacrifice and a story that deserves to be remembered.

Join us November 7-12 for the 12th Annual Orange Field of Valor and stand among those who served.

We’ve been getting questions about the Veterans Day Celebration here in the City of Orange, so hopefully this clears up any confusion that might be out there~ when the City of Orange had to cancel all their special events a few years ago, the CFO was approached by the City of Orange and asked if there was a way CFO could pick up the Veterans Day Celebration, which we happily did! For the past 11 years we have honored our veterans all week at the Field of Valor, and have given them very special recognition on Veterans Day for the past two years. We are more than honored to do so again, with the help of other non-profits who support veterans, such as the Home Depot Foundation, Assistance League of Orange, Kiwanis Club of Orange, Orange Elks Lodge #1475, the American Legion Post 132, SCC Veterans Resource Center and Chapman University. Please join us in our 12th year of the Field of Valor and our third year of a Veterans Day Reflection on Wednesday, Nov. 11th beginning at 11:00 am. Lunch will be provided for all veterans, compliments of Citrus City Grille. The Field opens on Saturday, Nov. 7th at 10 am, with Opening Ceremonies at 11:30 am. And P.S., if you want to know more about Major Billy Hall (WWII, Korea, and Vietnam) and his service, please reach out.) He was the driving force for a new non-profit we support called the "You Were Worth It Foundation." Honor Flight Southland CFO is a California 501 c 3 public entity, with proceeds from the Field of Valor directed towards organizations that support our veterans and active-duty military and their families.
