Officer Litke was recognized alongside law enforcement professionals from across the region during Crime Stoppers of Northeast Florida’s 26th Annual Awards Banquet last week.

🇺🇸 We Will Never Forget. 🇺🇸

Today, we pause to remember the 2,977 lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to honor the incredible courage of the first responders, law enforcement officers, firefighters, military members, and everyday citizens who ran toward danger to help others.

Twenty-five years later, we continue to remember the lives taken, the families forever changed, and the heroes who showed the world what courage, sacrifice, and unity truly mean.

May we never forget those we lost, those who answered the call, and the strength our nation showed in the days that followed.

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost Sept. 11, 2001, honor the heroes who answered the call.

In observance of the 25th anniversary, Orange City first responders attended the 25th Anniversary Remembrance Program at AdventHealth Fish Memorial. Police Chief Jerome Miller, Deputy Fire Chief Samuel Pilcher and Capt. Jason Ward participated in the program with special readings.

Twenty-five years later, we will never forget. 🇺🇸

A flood advisory has been issued for Volusia County until 7:30 p.m., and localized street flooding has been reported in Orange City.

Motorists are encouraged to drive with caution, allow additional travel time and avoid flooded roadways. Never attempt to drive through standing water.

There’s no need to investigate your plans for Oct. 10, we’ve already cracked the case!

Join us for National Night Out from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10 at Mill Lake Park, 207 E. Blue Springs Ave.

The free event will feature opportunities to meet Orange City police officers, along with food, giveaways, games, activities, police vehicle displays and more.

National Night Out is a nationwide event that brings neighbors, first responders and community partners together to promote crime prevention and build lasting relationships. 💙

At this time, the Orange City Police Department has discontinued its access to the Flock Safety law enforcement network. This decision applies solely to the Orange City Police Department and its use of the network.

The Orange City Police Department does not own, operate or maintain any Flock Safety cameras. The Department previously had access to the Flock Safety law enforcement network as an investigative resource through information-sharing capabilities available to law enforcement agencies.

Orange City Police Department recognizes the importance of balancing public safety with privacy, transparency and community trust. We appreciate the feedback received from our community and remain committed to using responsible, lawful and community-focused strategies to protect those who live, work, play and visit Orange City.

The Orange City Police Department will continue to evaluate law enforcement technologies and resources to ensure their use is consistent with applicable laws, Department policies, operational needs and the best interests of the community we serve.
