This award is a testament to your outstanding dedication, leadership, professionalism, and years of committed service to the citizens of Opelousas and the fire service community.
Since beginning your career with the Opelousas Fire Department in February 2004 and working his way through the ranks over the years to making Captain in July 2015, you have continually demonstrated excellence both on and off the job. Your commitment to training, mentorship, and public safety through your work with the Opelousas Fire Department and the Louisiana Fire and Emergency Training Academy (FETA) has made a lasting impact on fellow firefighters and the community alike.

This recognition is well deserved, and we thank you for your continued service, sacrifice, and leadership. Congratulations again on this tremendous honor. Job Well Done.

The Opelousas Fire Department has completed its annual fire pump testing on our fire apparatus. Pump testing is essential to verifying that your fire suppression equipment is ready when needed. Pump testing is an important annual task to verify units are up to specifications especially when it is needed most in fire suppression and other emergency situations.

This morning at 3:39 a.m., Opelousas Fire Department responded to the corner of Montreal and Lincoln streets for a structure fire. The structure was vacant at the time. There were no reported injuries to any citizens or and fire personnel. All units were back in service at 6:49 a.m.
