🔥 **BURN BAN IN EFFECT — ST. LANDRY PARISH** 🔥

A Parish-Wide Burn Ban is in effect. Please do not burn anything.

Our local firefighters and forestry crews are already stretched thin. Don't add to the problem. A single spark in these conditions can get out of control fast.

🚫 No debris burning
🚫 No field burning
🚫 No open burning of any kind

Please share this post so your neighbors see it. Thank you. 🙏

Please take our current fire danger seriously. Conditions right now are as dangerous as they get.

Our parish has seen below-normal rainfall since October, and the recent stretch of high winds and low humidity has made an already dry situation much worse. The National Weather Service issued **Red Flag Warnings across our region three days in a row** (Feb. 22–24) — that's how serious this is.

Statewide, the LDAF's Office of Forestry has responded to **more than 170 fires in February alone — including 70 fires in just the past 3 days.** Those numbers don't even include smaller fires handled by local fire departments.
