Sometimes a simple gesture can brighten someone’s day. ❤️

LouAnne gave us these beautiful flowers as part of her plan to recognize the brilliant women in leadership at the Community Market. Today, I passed them along to Chloe, one of our wonderful Friday volunteers, so she could enjoy them.

Chloe gives her time and her heart to our Community Market, and I thought she deserved a little reminder of how appreciated she is.

Today we want to give a very special thank-you to Buck for more than six wonderful years of volunteering at the Community Market!

Buck has been such a dependable and valued part of our team. His willingness to help, his great teamwork, and especially that smile of his have brought encouragement and joy to so many people over the years.

As Buck takes some time away, we want him to know just how much he will be missed. The Community Market won’t be quite the same without seeing his smiling face and having him here to lend a hand.

Buck, thank you for giving your time, sharing your kindness, and being such an important part of our Community Market family. We are so grateful for these past six years and hope you know how much you are appreciated. We’ll miss you and look forward to seeing you again!

A big thank-you to our friends at The Campus Kitchen for the incredible work they do to help fight hunger in our community!

Through their partnership with the Community Market, surplus food from Auburn’s campus dining halls is recovered and transformed into meals that help nourish our shoppers.

We’re so thankful for the energy, smiles, and willingness to help that Auburn High School’s Transition/Life Skills Class!

Today was extra special as they helped stock the fruits and vegetables and freezers with a Food Bank delivery. It was their first time helping with a delivery, and they did a great job jumping in and working together!

Every week, our 114 wonderful volunteers help make a difference at the Community Market. ❤️

They welcome our shoppers with a smile, help with paperwork and check-in, assist throughout their shopping experience, and make sure they are checked out and ready to go. Behind the scenes, they stock shelves, sort and organize food, and take care of the many tasks that keep the Market running smoothly.

They pour their time, kindness, and love into everything they do, and we are so grateful for each and every one of them.

Our volunteers truly make a difference!

Newly released data indicate that people in food-insecure households reported needing an additional $23.16 per person per week to have just enough money to cover their food needs. Programs like the Mobile Pantry, Community Market, and Backpack Program help our neighbors fill those gaps when there just isn't enough.

Hunger Action Month, we're challenging our followers to set up an empty jar at home or work to collect their pocket change for the Food Bank. Every coin adds up to make a big difference in our mission to feed our neighbors.
