NOTICE – DELAYED OPENING

Pursuant to Governor Ivey’s directive and Chief Justice Stewart’s order regarding current weather and road conditions, the Justice Center will have a delayed opening at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow (Monday, January 26, 2026).

All civil and criminal dockets originally scheduled before 10:00 a.m. will be moved to 10:00 a.m. Anyone with a hearing or court appearance scheduled prior to 10:00 a.m. should report at 10:00 a.m.

Please travel safely.

October is one of our favorite months at the Circuit Clerk’s Office!! We wore pink clothes and ribbons for Breast Cancer Awareness, gave out candy to amazing families at the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Trunk or Treat, and are going to have the best day as “Mary and her Little Lambs” on Clerk-O-Ween!!!

The Justice Center will open and resume court operations (including the Clerk’s Office, court dockets/scheduled court appearances) at NOON on THURSDAY, January 23, 2025.

UPDATED POST FOR WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 22, 2025:

Lee County Clerk’s Office and all court appearances/dockets scheduled for WEDNESDAY, January 22, 2025 have been cancelled due to the significant weather issues in Lee County and the Governor’s Proclamation declaring a state of emergency along with the Order issued by Supreme Court Chief Justices Parker and Stewart regarding such.

All Circuit and District Court dockets scheduled for WEDNESDAY will be reset and notices will be sent out with the new court date(s).

If you are scheduled to appear in court, please make sure to notify the clerk’s office if your address has changed to ensure you receive notice of the new court date.

All Circuit and District Court dockets scheduled for tomorrow will be reset and notices will be sent out with the new court date(s).

To honor and celebrate the retirement of Judge Russell Bush, the Clerk’s Office will be closed from 2:30pm-3:30pm for his reception. We work closely with all of our judges and appreciate the opportunity to express our gratitude for his dedicated service. We will reopen at 3:30pm!!

The Lee County Circuit Clerk’s Office will be closed tomorrow (Friday, January 10th) pursuant to Governor Ivey’s Memorandum declaring a state of emergency and closing state offices in a number of counties that include Lee County.

Judge Speakman’s review dockets scheduled for tomorrow have been cancelled as well and will be rescheduled for March 20th. Notices for these rescheduled court dates will be sent out. Please update any changes of address to ensure you receive a notice, but you are required to appear on that date regardless.

The gifts that keep on giving during the holidays this year seem to be the flu and norovirus, which have hit our office. DUE TO SEVERE STAFF SHORTAGES TODAY, WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PROCESS PASSPORT APPLICATIONS. A list of nearby acceptance agencies is available on travel.state.gov.
We appreciate your understanding and hope that we’ll all be healthy and back in full swing next week!

Pursuant to the Alabama Supreme Court Order dated 12/20/24, the Lee County Clerk’s Office will close at noon on Tuesday, December 31st. We will reopen on Thursday, January 2, 2025, and hope everyone has a safe and happy New Year!!

The company that developed and provided this product in our lobby used state of the art technology…it should only print a passport photo that is acceptable to the U.S. Department of State.
