Insulation and Acoustical Carpenters came together to discuss union updates, membership growth and retention, and ways to strengthen our presence in the industry. Our market share is not given - it is earned. It takes the dedication and effort of every member to maintain and grow our union’s strength. Together, we can continue setting the standard for our industry and building a stronger future for our members. The Western States Regional Council of Carpenters proudly attended last night’s Barstow City Council meeting, where the Barstow International Gateway (BIG) Project was approved unanimously with a 5-0 vote.

This transformative project will create quality careers, uphold strong labor and wage standards, prioritize safety, invest in local communities and education, and strengthen the future of Southern California, the Inland Empire, and San Bernardino County.

We thank BNSF and the City of Barstow for their leadership and partnership, and we look forward to the opportunities this major project will bring for Barstow, our union brothers and sisters, and the region. .millwright
