Community in Action is looking for talented 14-18 Teen Youth artists who would like to donate their time to paint a vibrant mural at their Youth In Action center! This is a fantastic opportunity to give back to the community, add a meaningful piece to your portfolio, or use it as a classroom project.

Join us on our quest through our Shrek Themed Youth Symposium! It will be a swamptastic weekend full of teambuilding, adventure, games, activities, prince/princess training, and much more.

April 25th to April 27th – Bend/Redmond, OR Area.

Open to Army and Air National Guard connected teens grades 7th-12th.

A few details to remember:
1. The Oregon Youth Symposium is an event where all youth participants will be put on travel orders, covering mileage, per diem on travel days, overnight accommodation costs, and all food for the participant during the symposium.

2. A parent is required to stay overnight at the event site with your teen. Parents will sign their teen in each day to the event and will return to sign out their teen at the end of the scheduled programming for that day. Parents are responsible for supervision of their teens during non-programming hours.

I will tell you, we have the best acronym in the military!

As a Military & Familily Readiness Specialist (MFRS) we have the honor of helping Veterans, Service Members, Gold Star Families, and military-connected families with resource assistance. Regardless of their branch of service or status.

We are a one stop shop for all things military-connected. We are not Veteran Services Officers (VSO), but we know many throughout Oregon. We cannot provide military documents or DD 214's, but we can tell you how to order one and where to keep certified copies. Is your partner or child deployed and you need bill assistance - our team is ready to assist you!

All the resources we offer have been vetted to ensure they are reputible.

If you need certified paper copies of your DD 214. Go to the following link and fill out the form. Usually takes about a week to get it back in the mail.

Veterans and their next of kin can get FREE copies of their DD 214, and other military service records including Official Military Personnel File (OMPF), Replacement Medals, and Medical and Health Records.
