Our Story

Since 1974, LVODC has been dedicated to helping adults in Otsego and Delaware Counties achieve academic, work and personal goals. Our mission is to change lives through promoting literacy.

Our trained tutors are ready to work one-to-one with students at their own pace to help them become better readers, writers, and speakers. We are here to help each step of the way, whether it is English towards the citizenship process, math for everyday activities, preparation for TASC (high school equivalency) or being able to apply for a job. We help build on students’ personal goals. We understand it is hard to live in today’s world without the ability to read, write or speak English with confidence.

Our services are completely confidential and are at no cost to learners. We provide a judgment-free zone where students can focus on their learning and take their education to the next level.
