Popcorn’s transformation is nothing short of incredible 🤍

When she first came to us, she was suffering from severe mange, completely starved, and absolutely terrified of the world around her. You could see the fear in her eyes, she didn’t know safety, love, or kindness.

Fast forward to today… and she looks like a whole new dog. Her fur is growing back, her body is healing, and most importantly her heart is opening. Popcorn has learned to trust, to seek out affection, and to enjoy being loved.

Stories like hers are why we do what we do. And they wouldn’t be possible without YOU.

Meet Gary 🧡

Gary is a big, handsome orange tabby with a laid-back, independent personality. He’s the kind of cat who enjoys doing his own thing, lounging in his favorite spots and taking life at his own pace. While he’s not a fan of being held, Gary will happily come to you for affection when he’s in the mood, making those moments extra special. He came to us from a severe hoarding neglect case and was on a euthanasia list, weighing only 6 pounds when we rescued him. Despite his rough start, he’s shown incredible resilience and is now ready for a fresh start in a loving home. If you’re looking for a low-maintenance companion who will love you on his own terms, Gary might just be your perfect match.

🇺🇸 Today, we remember the heroes who never made it home, both human & animal. 🇺🇸

The soldiers, the military working dogs, the horses and mules who served beside them… each gave more than words could ever honor. Their loyalty, sacrifice, and courage will never be forgotten.

💐 Happy Mother’s Day to our Tessa 💐
And to every mother, foster, rescuer, grandmother, guardian, and woman who has stepped up to love, protect, and nurture others.🩷

We want to recognize every single person who has chosen to become “mom” to someone who needed one: whether human or animal. Blood does not always define motherhood. Love does.

At Halo’s, we see every day what it means to have a mother’s heart. The sleepless nights bottle feeding babies, the tears over the ones we couldn’t save, the joy of watching scared animals finally feel safe, and the endless sacrifices made out of pure love.

Tessa has been one of those people for her kids, for others, and for this rescue time and time again. Stepping in wherever needed, loving animals as if they were her own, and helping carry the weight of this mission even on the hardest days. We are endlessly grateful for everything she does for Halo’s Home and for the animals who depend on us. 🐾

Thank you to the mothers who keep going even when they’re exhausted. The ones who sacrifice quietly. The ones who rescue, comfort, guide, protect, and show up.

We see you. We appreciate you. And we hope today reminds you just how important you truly are. 🌷

Can you help us? We are officially out of dry dog food and dry cat food. This is all we have left for the many rescues in our care.

Every act of kindness matters. Feeding this many animals takes a village, and we’re so grateful for ours. ❤️

A huge thank you to Jennifer McAdams for donating the cutest reversible bandannas for our cats and dogs! 🐾💗 These little touches make such a big difference, not only do they make our animals even more adoptable, but they bring so much personality and joy to each one. And can we just talk about how adorable Tw***ie looks in hers?! 😭💕 She is absolutely rocking it and soaking up all the extra attention. We are so grateful for your kindness and support it truly means the world to us and the animals in our care. 🐶🐱

We’re looking for 𝟖 𝐭𝐨 𝟏𝟎 𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐬 to help throughout the event!
❤️ We would also love to have several dog-walkers to parade our adoptable pups around the park in hopes they will be noticed.❤️

This is such an incredible opportunity to support your local animal rescue while being part of a fun, high-energy Renaissance Faire full of love, vendors, food, entertainment, and *adoptable rescues*!

🌱 𝗜𝗧’𝗦 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗬𝗘𝗔𝗥 • 𝗕𝗔𝗕𝗬 𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗢𝗡 𝗜𝗦 𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘 🐾

Every year, we get several messages about baby animals being found, and while we LOVE that our community cares so deeply, sometimes the best way to help is to leave them alone.

You can always message us if you’re unsure, but this guide will help you decide if intervention is actually needed. 👇

🐇 𝗕𝗔𝗕𝗬 𝗥𝗔𝗕𝗕𝗜𝗧 𝗜𝗡 𝗔 𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗦𝗦 𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗧
Mom only visits once or twice a day, usually at dawn or dusk. She stays away on purpose to avoid attracting predators.
Place two small sticks in an X over the nest and check later. If they’ve moved, mom came back.

🦌 𝗙𝗔𝗪𝗡 𝗟𝗬𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗔𝗟𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗜𝗡 𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗦𝗦
This is completely normal. Fawns have little to no scent and stay still to stay safe.
Mom returns multiple times a day.
Call TWRA & Only intervene if the fawn is injured, walking in circles, or crying nonstop for hours.

🐦 𝗕𝗔𝗕𝗬 𝗕𝗜𝗥𝗗 𝗢𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗚𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗
If it has feathers, open eyes, and is hopping, it is a fledgling. Leave it alone. Parents are nearby feeding it.

If it is naked or its eyes are closed, it fell from the nest.
You can safely place it back. Parents will not reject it.

🐿️ 𝗕𝗔𝗕𝗬 𝗦𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗥𝗥𝗘𝗟
If it approaches you, it likely needs help.
If it is just sitting in a tree or on a roof, it is fine.

🐾 𝗕𝗔𝗕𝗬 𝗢𝗣𝗢𝗦𝗦𝗨𝗠
Over about seven inches from nose to rump means it is independent.
Smaller than that and alone may need help, and you should contact a rehabilitator.

🐢 𝗕𝗔𝗕𝗬 𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗧𝗟𝗘
Completely independent from birth.
There is no such thing as an abandoned baby turtle.

🌿 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗔𝗟 𝗥𝗨𝗟𝗘𝗦 🌿

Before touching any baby animal, reach out to a wildlife rehabilitator.
Most babies are alone on purpose. It is how they survive.
Watch from a distance for a couple of hours. Parents are usually nearby.
If a cat is near a baby bird, gently move it under a bush within about thirty feet.
