Monona County Public Health/Environmental Health is partnering with Marion County Public Health on a Radon Grant and we have free short term Radon Testing kits for the residents of Monona County! These kits are available only for residential homes, no businesses.

It doesn’t matter if you live in the country or in the city, you can stop in the Monona County Environmental Health office in Onawa and pick up a kit - you have to own your home, no renters please.

This grant also includes Mitigation Financial Assistance up to $2,000 to mitigate your home if you have an elevated Radon level of 4.0 pCi/L.

Stop in today and for more information and to pick up your kit 😊 Radon is the second leading cause of Lung Cancer in non-smokers.

This is a great thing! Monona County has high Radon levels and the best way to protect yourself is with Radon mitigation and it is cheaper to install when building a new home!
