Come out tomorrow night for our annual hosting of the Harvest of the Earth Dinner. We will be serving pulled pork, baked beans and Cole slaw. We look forward to seeing everyone there!

Public Announcement: The Onamia Fire Department will be hosting the Harvest of the Earth Dinner located at Holy Cross Church in Onamia on October 8th at 6:00 pm. As in previous years our menu will be pulled pork sandwiches accompanied with baked beans and Cole slaw. We look forward to seeing you there!

Test your smoke and CO (carbon monoxide detectors) today. Working detectors saves lives!

We occasionally have gone on calls involving smoke or CO detectors going off; with the problem being bad batteries. Daylight savings time is just over a month away. If your smoke or CO detectors use batteries, put those batteries on your grocery list so they are available to replace your old ones on November 2nd. Not only can new batteries save lives, they could also prevent a future visit from your local fire department. Remember, change your clocks, change your batteries!

It’s with great sadness that we announce the passing of one of our firefighters, Brandon Price. His celebration of life will be held at the Rolf Olsen Center in Onamia on May 31st from 1:00-5:00 pm. Please keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.

The low humidity, dry fuels and increased wind still has Mille Lacs County designated in a Red Flag Warning. Fire danger is considered extreme and any wildland fires will burn hot and fast.

The low humidity, dry fuels and increased winds have created a near-critical fire danger for Mille Lacs County. We have been issued a red flag warning today from 11:00 am until 10:00 pm
