The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:
FIRST. The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
SECOND. High ethical standards in business and p

rofessions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society;
THIRD. The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life;
FOURTH. The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service. Another great Hilltopper Rotary meeting! 💙💛

Yesterday we welcomed Constance Arzigian, Senior Research Associate with the Mississippi Valley Archaeology Center, for a fascinating look at the archaeology and history right here in the Upper Mississippi River Valley. It was incredible to learn more about the stories beneath our feet and the work being done to research and preserve our region’s past.

One of the best parts of our water project has been watching the ripple effect go far beyond the water itself. 💧🌎

From partnering with Sparta Rotary and our Rotary friends in Mexico, to connections throughout District 6250, and now our third invitation to share the story with a local club… this project keeps bringing people together.

Thank you to Downtown Rotary and President Richard for the incredibly warm welcome today. We’ve loved every opportunity to relive this experience, share its impact, and connect with more Rotarians along the way.

Good people. Shared purpose. Lasting impact. That’s the magic of Rotary. 💙💛

Today we welcomed Rob Grover, Executive Director of the La Crosse County Historical Society, for a fascinating look at the people, places, and stories that have shaped our community. Thank you, Rob, for sharing the important work LCHS is doing to preserve our local history!

🏆This one feels extra special.

Our Hilltopper Rotary Club, together with our friends at Sparta Rotary, received the Avenues of Service International Service Award for our Puerto Vallarta Water Project. 🥹

But the best part of this story isn’t the award. It’s what it represents.

It’s two Rotary clubs saying YES to a big idea. It’s fundraisers, donations, planning, partnerships and a whole lot of people willing to pitch in. It’s Rotarians traveling to Mexico 🇲🇽 and working alongside a local community. And ultimately, it’s clean water reaching families because a group of people believed we could make a difference and then got to work. ✨

That’s the kind of thing we’re really proud of. 💙

We’ll definitely take a moment to celebrate this one! 🎉 But the real win will always be knowing that two clubs came together and made something pretty incredible happen.

A little teamwork, a lot of heart, and Service Above Self. That’s what Rotary is all about. 🌎💧

✨ Meeting Recap ✨

Today we learned more about the Amara Rose Foundation, Inc., created in memory of Amara Rose Lee and inspired by her story to bring greater awareness, education and support to others.

The foundation is turning unimaginable loss into action by educating our communities about substance abuse, fentanyl poisoning and mental health, while offering hope and support to individuals and families impacted by addiction.

A powerful presentation and a meaningful example of Service Above Self in action. 💛 Thank you for sharing this important mission with our Hilltoppers!

Another great Rotary meeting! 👏

We had a full room, great conversation, and lots of excitement as we welcomed Vicki Markussen, Executive Director of the La Crosse Area Development Corporation (LADCO). She shared how LADCO is strengthening our region through business support, workforce development, and strategic partnerships to help our community thrive.

A great reminder of this year’s Rotary theme: Create Lasting Impact. 💙💛

After years of faithfully serving as our club Treasurer, Dani is passing the torch. Her dedication, reliability, and countless behind-the-scenes hours have helped keep our club strong and moving forward.

🤍 A Message from Outgoing President Jessica Himmer 💙

A year ago, I had the honor of stepping into the role of President and somehow that year has already come to an end. 🥹

What an incredible privilege it has been to serve this club over the past year. Together, we embraced our theme, *Unite for Good*, and watched what can happen when people come together with a shared purpose. ✨

When I look back on this year, my favorite memories aren't just the events or meetings...they're the countless hours our board spent strengthening our club for the future. Traveling to Mexico to see the impact of our international water project firsthand is an experience I'll carry with me forever. 🇲🇽💧

Leadership isn't about doing it alone. It's about surrounding yourself with people who care deeply, show up consistently, and inspire you to be better. Our board and members did exactly that, and I'm incredibly grateful for each one of them. ❤️

As I turn the page to my role as Past President, I'm proud of what we accomplished together and excited to watch our club continue to grow. 🌱

Thank you for allowing me the privilege of serving as your president this past year. It has truly been an honor. 💙
