Congratulations to recent OHS graduate Aditi Muduganti on her incredible achievement at the 2026 International Science and Engineering Fair! πŸ…

ISEF is the world’s largest pre-collegiate science competition, bringing together more than 1,700 student researchers from over 60 countries.

Aditi competed against 80 projects from around the world in the Physics and Astronomy category. We're proud to share that her project, which included the creation of the first-ever 3D model of a specific planetary nebula located thousands of light-years away, earned a 4th Place Grand Award! πŸŽ‰

This marks Aditi’s second appearance at ISEF. She was already the first student from Onalaska High School to qualify for and attend ISEF. Aditi is now the first OHS student to ever earn an ISEF award, adding to a high school science career for the history books. If you do a quick search of our page, you'll see that Aditi is an incredibly accomplished student with a strong dedication, curiosity, and passion for scientific research. This fall, she plans to attend the world-renowned Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

We are so proud of all that Aditi has accomplished during her time as a Hilltopper and know she'll continue to do great things wherever life takes her. Thank you for representing Onalaska so well, Aditi! πŸ‘

Making a masterpiece: one bead at a time

Each year, a group of dedicated Northern Hills 5th graders, along with a few returning middle school artists, spend months crafting a large-scale art piece that will eventually be displayed in the school. This year’s project transformed an original drawing of a winding river and fiery sky into an incredible bead art display. Every detail was carefully placed by students, bead by bead, over countless hours of work.

The finished piece was installed in the main hallway this week, where it will remain on display for years to come.

These photos capture the early stages of the project and the progress made throughout the past few months. What an incredible way to leave a lasting mark on your school. A big shoutout to Mr. C for organizing and guiding this meaningful project every year. Well done, Hawks. 🫢
