LYNN “COOTER” KROHN
Lynn “Cooter” Krohn, 65, of Onaga, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 10, 2026.
He was born December 25, 1960 in Onaga, the son of Myron and Orlene Kufahl Krohn. He graduated from Onaga High School in 1979.
Cooter was a volunteer firefighter with the Wheaton and Onaga Fire Departments.
After high school, he worked at Kufahl Hardware in Wheaton. He later worked for the Matzke Hog Market and later for Bob’s Service. For over thirty years Cooter worked for the City of Onaga, attaining the position of Public Works Supervisor.
He married Daun Renfro on November 18, 1989 in Onaga. She survives, of the home.
Cooter loved the outdoors and the life he built around family, hard work, and simple pleasures. Whether he was giving his grandkids and dogs rides on the golf cart, keeping his yard and others perfectly mowed, or caring for his tomato plants, he found happiness in everyday moments. He enjoyed cheering on all the ball teams, watching NASCAR, playing co****le, and reminiscing about his days playing slow-pitch softball. More than anything, though, he treasured his role as Papa. His grandchildren were the center of his world, and the love, laughter, and memories they shared together will live on forever.
Cooter was preceded in death by his father and a cousin, Kevin Haefner.
Other survivors include two daughters, Miranda Clowe (Neil), Wetmore and Kendal DeWalt (Keaton), Wamego, a son, Daniel Krohn (Jayme), Wamego, two brothers, Duane Krohn, Westmoreland and Mark Krohn (Suzanne), Onaga, two sisters, Delores “Dee” Ubel (Larry), Wheaton and Brenda Schlegel (Jay), Westmoreland, three grandchildren, Cal Krohn, Walker DeWalt and Miles Krohn, and many nieces and nephews.
