The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) is the largest socialist organization in the United States, and the principal U.S. affiliate of the Socialist International. DSA's members are building progressive movements for social change while establishing an openly democratic socialist presence in American communities and politics.

At tonight's meeting, we voted to endorse and join Nebraska Right to Counsel Coalition!

In civil courts all across Nebraska, tenants are left to fend for themselves against lawyers hired by their landlords who use the complexities of the legal system to unethically and illegally evict them from their homes. As the COVID crisis progresses, landlords have been ramping up their evictions, despite a CDC-issued moratorium on evictions to help prevent the spread of the disease.

The NERTC is currently organizing tenants, individuals, and organizations across the state to fight for the right to legal representation for ALL tenants facing eviction cases.
