During the month of June , IVFD members responded to a total of 86 incidents.
Breakdown of incident types:
Medical: 66
Fire: 20

Thursday night, members of Irvington Volunteer Fire Department had the opportunity to participate in a joint training with Fort Calhoun Fire and Rescue and Ponca Hills Volunteer Fire Department focused on pregnancy-related emergencies and neonatal care.

We were fortunate to learn from two outstanding instructors. Leslie from Ponca Hills Fire Department provided valuable training on pregnancy emergencies, while Becca from Children’s Hospital shared her expertise on neonatal emergencies and the specialized care these patients require.

Training opportunities like these are essential to ensuring our responders are prepared to provide the highest level of care when our community needs us most. They also allow neighboring departments to strengthen relationships, improve communication, and work more effectively as a team when responding together on emergency incidents.

A big thank you to our instructors and partner departments for making tonight’s training a success. Continuous training and collaboration help us better serve and protect our communities.

IVFD had the privilege of working with students from Tri-County Fire Corps this morning!

This week’s training focused on ventilation and building construction.

Due to the continued dry air and windy weather conditions in Douglas County, a burn ban is in effect, starting Monday, April 20, 2026.

⚠️During this time, no open burning is allowed of any sort, including campfires and burn barrels.

Wildfire Deployment Update – Western Nebraska

IR 420 has been assigned to the Cottonwood Fire near North Platte.

Our volunteers have been working diligently to support operations and assist with any tasks assigned by command. We’re proud of their continued dedication and commitment on the fire line.
