Cather Curiosity 🟨🟦🟩🟧
Have you ever really looked at the floor around our gym?
During Cather's 2021 renovation, a checkerboard border of gray and colored tiles was added around the perimeter of the gym. And here's the curious part:
Each side has a different number of colored tiles!
🟨 Yellow — 69⅓
🟦 Blue — 102
🟩 Green — 97⅓
🟧 Orange — 66
The fractions aren't a typo! In a couple of places, the checkerboard pattern meets a doorway, so only part of a colored tile fits along that side.
So...why aren't the sides equal? And why does blue have the most??
We don't know. We just know that now we can't stop counting them. 😂
