Olympic Valley is home to Palisades Tahoe, which hosted the 1960 Winter Olympics. Staff includes 13 full time employees and part time firefighters.

🚫🔥 Seasonal Burn Ban Starts June 15th 🔥🚫

The Olympic Valley Fire Department is enacting its Seasonal Burn Ban starting Monday, 06/15/26. It will stay in effect until wildfire danger drops—usually around November.

‼️ Short-Term Rental Owners: Your guests are never allowed to do any of the banned activities—all year long, burn ban or not.

Contained: Olympic Valley Residential Structure Fire
On April 1, 2026, crews responded to a residential structure fire (electrical), contained to the exterior of the home. Thanks to the swift, coordinated efforts of Olympic Valley Fire Department (OVFD), North Tahoe Fire Protection District (NTFPD), and CAL FIRE NEU, the incident was quickly contained. This multi-agency response, once again, showcased our robust regional mutual aid system!
