Today, two of our volunteers were honored to take part in the Washington State Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service at the Capitol in Olympia.

It is through these meaningful acts of remembrance that we honor the sacrifice, service, and legacy of our fallen brothers and sisters. We will never forget those who gave their lives in service to others.

While sunshine is welcome, hot temperatures can quickly become dangerous. Stay hydrated and keep an eye on children, older adults, outdoor workers, and pets.

Remember: Even on warm days, local lakes and rivers remain dangerously cold. Wear a life jacket and use caution around the water.

Hot weather and dry conditions increase fire danger. Help prevent wildfires by:
• Following burn restrictions
• Fully extinguishing campfires
• Avoiding parking on dry grass
• Securing trailer chains
• Never tossing ci******es from a vehicle

Stay safe, stay cool.

This wall was created to honor and remember the members who have served and retired from West Thurston Fire. While no display could ever fully capture the dedication, commitment, and sacrifice these individuals gave to our department, community, and fire service family, we hope it serves as a lasting tribute to their legacy.

Each one represents a story, a lesson, and a contribution that helped shape who we are today. We hope future members will stop, ask questions, and hear the stories behind the names.

To all who have served, THANK YOU. We are honored to recognize your service and proud to have your names displayed on our Wall of Bravery, Service, and Sacrifice.

A Shift got their turn in the burn box today.

The focus wasn’t just on fire attack, it was on critiquing skills, growing confidence, and learning different tactics. Every evolution is an opportunity to improve and become a stronger firefighter.

This wraps up our live fire training for the week. Great work by all three shifts and everyone who helped make it a success.

Today, C Shift put in the work on the training ground. One of the most rewarding parts of training is seeing each person experience different roles, discover what works best for them, and build skills they never thought they could do.

Great job by everyone involved. Now it’s time to cool off.
