Learn how demand flexibility can strengthen Washington’s energy future!

Join us on Wednesday, June 17 at 1 p.m. for a webinar with experts from the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA) as they break down the current energy demand flexibility landscape, opportunities for utility companies and customers, and why community engagement matters.

Demand response programs help keep our electric grid reliable by encouraging small, voluntary shifts in energy use during peak times, and community participation is key to making these programs successful.

We're in Moses Lake for FlightPath, a Commerce-led event in partnership with the Port of Moses Lake, bringing together industry partners to highlight Washington’s aerospace strengths.

We kicked things off with remarks from our Interim Director Sarah Clifthorne and Boeing in Washington, opening a dynamic conversation on the future of flight technologies and sustainability.

Grant County is a real-world aerospace testing hub where Washington's workforce continues to power innovation in sustainability, advanced research and development, and driving the next-generation of flight technologies.

Washington is a national leader in aerospace, supporting tens of thousands of jobs across manufacturing, engineering, and testing. Commerce is proud to help shape what takes flight next. ✈️

Thank you to host AeroTEC, our panels of speakers, and the companies that participated in the event!

Supporting small businesses is key to economic success. Mentorship and help navigating new markets are often critical for companies looking to grow internationally.

That’s why the K-Startup Center Seattle is an important resource for Washington. Created through investment from the Korean government, it connects Korean startups and emerging companies with the networks, resources, and partnerships they need to establish and grow here.

We recently participated in an event hosted by the center – the Smart City Innovation Showcase. It brought together innovators, entrepreneurs, investors, and community leaders to highlight emerging technologies and ideas.

Commerce looks forward to continuing our work with the center, supporting opportunities to help innovative companies connect, expand, and succeed in Washington.

Washington’s climate plan is an economic strategy.

It could save nearly $17 billion by 2050 while creating jobs, expanding clean energy, and lowering costs across the state.

This is about more than climate. It’s about affordability, competitiveness and a stronger economy for Washington.

Washington is investing in cleaner, more accessible transportation, putting $37.3 million toward new electric vehicle charging infrastructure across the state. This effort focuses on places that need it most, including rural communities, tribal nations, and multifamily housing.

Through this funding, 43 organizations will move forward with 104 projects that will add 754 new charging ports by late 2027. It’s part of the Washington Electric Vehicle Charging Program which helps fill critical charging gaps and ensures every community can benefit from the transition to clean energy.

Collaboration creates strong communities.

For decades, Kitsap Community Resources has worked alongside local service organizations to advocate on behalf of low-resourced community members and to address housing needs.

A new housing property is a testament to KCR’s collaborative work. šəqusəbali Affordable Housing opened in Bremerton in late 2025 and provides a home for up to nine families with children experiencing homelessness. Named by the local Suquamish Tribe, šəqusəbali means “a place to keep your head up.”

FlightPath is landing in Moses Lake! 🛬

We’re less than a week away from bringing together industry, academia, and public partners to highlight Washington’s growing aerospace ecosystem and cutting-edge research and development happening across the state.

Moses Lake plays an important role as a real-world testing and operations hub, connecting innovation with application.

We’re excited to have Boeing participating in the discussion again, and are grateful to our hosts, AeroTEC and Port of Moses Lake. They are making this second FlightPath event possible and continue to support collaboration and innovation in the region.

Stay tuned for high-flying highlights!
