Today is the deadline to remove your studded tires to avoid a potential fine from State Patrol!

Spring is here, and so is Washington’s deadline to remove studded tires! Make sure they are off your vehicle by March 31 to avoid a potential $137 fine. Tickets may be issued by the Washington State Patrol. We do not issue tickets and cannot speak to whether you would receive one if studs are still on after the deadline.

There is no out-of-state waiver or extension. If late snow shows up, use approved traction tires, switch to non-stud winter tires, and carry chains if needed. Studded tires are tough on roadways, so making the switch helps protect the roads we all use. Safe travels!

🚛 Your Voice Matters: Help Shape Washington’s Transportation Future 🛣️

WSDOT is developing the Transportation Resilience Improvement Plan (TRIP) to prepare our roads, bridges, and transportation system for extreme weather and natural hazards like floods, wildfires, landslides, and earthquakes.

They want to hear directly from the trucking industry and transportation professionals about how these challenges impact your routes, operations, and day-to-day business.

📝 The survey takes about 10 minutes, is confidential, and is open until January 30, 2026.

🎁 As a thank-you, participants (18+) can share their name and contact information for a chance to win one of two $100 gift cards.

👉 Take the survey here:

Governor Bob Ferguson just signed a statewide emergency declaration in response to the intense flooding in our state this week and has activated the National Guard to respond to flooding.

Per Governor Ferguson, by tonight, we'll have 100 National Guard service members staging, ready to respond to requests for help.

Tomorrow, we'll have 300.

I just signed a statewide emergency declaration in response to the intense flooding in our state this week.

This allows us to seek federal funds to cover the cost of this response, which we anticipate will be significant, and also gives us the flexibility we need to respond quickly to keep Washingtonians safe in a fast-moving situation.
