The Washington Service Corps (WSC) engages citizens to serve in our state's communities. Hundreds of WSC AmeriCorps members serve in local non-profit, educational and governmental agencies or entities across Washington, helping people in need and protecting the environment. The Washington Service Corps was created by the state Legislature in 1983. Primarily funded by the national AmeriCorps progra

m since 1994, WSC's programs have expanded throughout the state to include the Washington Reading Corps program. Our AmeriCorps members come from a wide range of age groups and cultural backgrounds, bringing their passion for serving others to agencies across Washington state, transforming the lives of those in need and helping to protect our local lands and waterways. Upon completion of their service term, they receive an education award – as well as a life-changing experience!
