🚨 PUBLIC NOTICE: WATER RESCUE TRAINING 🚨

Tomorrow, Saturday, September 5, Olympian Springs Volunteer Fire Department and other emergency personnel will be conducting water rescue training and a simulated rescue scenario at Stoney Cove.

⏰ Training Time: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Throughout the day, you may see several emergency vehicles, emergency personnel, rescue boats, and a helicopter in the area. This is a scheduled training exercise. There is no need for alarm.

The area before the gate will remain open to the public. We ask that everyone please:

🚫 Do not go past the gate
🚫 Do not interfere with training operations
🚫 No drones in the area during training

These exercises allow our first responders to train together and prepare for real life water emergencies.

🚌 BACK TO SCHOOL SAFETY REMINDER 🎒

Tomorrow is the first day of school for Bath County, which means our roads will once again be filled with school buses, young drivers, parents and kiddos heading to class.

Olympian Springs Volunteer Fire Department asks everyone to give themselves a little extra time and stay alert.

🛑 Stop for school buses with flashing red lights
👀 Watch closely for children at bus stops and crosswalks
📵 Put the phone down while driving
🚗 Slow down in school zones and residential areas
🚌 Leave extra following distance behind buses
💛 Be patient. Everyone is adjusting to a new routine.
