One of the best parts of my role as CEO at AWC is getting to know the directors of other municipal leagues across the country. We had a friendly wager with our friends at the Massachusetts Municipal Association over the Super Bowl. The held up their end of the bargain - by holding up our Seahawks banner at their offices in Boston! Thanks Adam and team for being such good sports. And go Hawks!

It was great to catch up with Mayor Angela Birney of Redmond, Washington today - one of our newest Association of Washington Cities board members!

It was fun to see the light rail station ad art work downtown- it’s good for business, as you can see from the line outside Salt and Straw at 1 PM on a weekday! Bonus - the mayor brought me homegrown tomatoes! The bar for city visits has officially been raised!

It was a beautiful day to visit Chewelah! And it was great to catch up with so many leaders from cities and towns including Chewelah, Colville, Deer Park, Latah, Metaline Falls, City of Newport, Rockford, Soap Lake, and Springdale.

I'm really excited about this new position at the Association of Washington Cities - the Director of Events, Education, and Engagement:

In addition to overseeing all of our events and our educational programming (including our Certificate of Municipal Leadership program), the Director will partner with me to ensure that we have engagement from our membership all over the state, and that our programming reflects the needs of our membership.
