During an election year, there are certain restrictions on my communications to prevent the use of public, state resources for campaign purposes. One of these restrictions is a freeze on this Facebook account, meaning the page will not be updated beginning May 4, 2026, until after the general election in November. Per the Legislative Ethics Board, this page is unable to accept comments during this same time period. If you have questions or comments about legislative issues, please feel free to continue to contact me using the link below. Thank you!

Sad news - Election Year Activity (EYA) restrictions start soon so I won’t be able to send out any newsletters or post on my official social media. Starting May 4, 2026, EYA restrictions start (which were put in place to ensure no state resources are used for campaign purposes during election years). While the pause lasts until after the November election, my work on your behalf still continues in the meantime! Please don’t hesitate to reach out via phone or email if you have questions, needs, or thoughts on legislative issues, because my office is still working hard during this time! Here is my contact information: https://housedemocrats.wa.gov/fosse/contact/

Watch this short video for more on the EYA freeze:

My latest e-newsletter just went out (follow link: https://tinyurl.com/Fosse-EYANL). It includes a video message on Election Year Activity (EYA) Restrictions; the digital version of the 38th District Session Report; a word on how Washington is responding to the latest SCOTUS decision weakening voting rights; and a short section on International Workers' Day.

Check your mailboxes — we sent our 2026 Session Report to the 38th District earlier this week so it should be arriving in your mailbox soon. It’s a good recap of this last session and includes some of great things we accomplished. I also posted it on my legislative website here:https://housedemocrats.wa.gov/tmp/sites/77/2026/05/47142_38LD-Session-Report_20216-WEB-Version.pdf

House Bill 1128 has been signed into law! As a working mother, sponsoring this bill was personally really meaningful to me. This legislation will strengthen Washington’s child care workforce by establishing a Child Care Workforce Standards Board. This new board will provide recommendations to the Legislature on potential solutions to stabilize the workforce and improve access to quality child care.

Thank you Sen. Derek Stanford for your partnership getting this measure over the finish line this year!

The Wage Recovery Act has been signed into law! This year I sponsored House Bill 2479 which will soon help workers recover unpaid wages they’re owed by strengthening Washington’s wage recovery system, modernizing enforcement, and creating a Wage Recovery Fund to help vulnerable workers while they await justice.

I'm proud to have cosponsored House Bill 2492, which has now been signed into law! Sponsored by Rep. Greg Nance, this legislation requires our state-registered building and construction trades apprenticeship programs to include behavioral health and wellness training for their apprentices. It may seem like a small change, but it will have a profound impact on the hardworking individuals helping to build Washington State.

In 2019, the Legislature passed the Keep Washington Working (KWW) Act changing state law to protect the rights and dignity of all of our residents by prohibiting local law enforcement agencies from using public funds or personnel to enforce federal immigration laws.

This year, we focused on what we could do to protect against an increasingly hostile federal government. We passed policies that build off of the KWW Act and work toward a state that affirms the dignity of ALL residents – including our immigrant and refugee populations, communities of color, our LGBTQ+ communities, and more. While more work remains, I am proud of the progress we made in just 60-days.

Here are a few of the bills that have been signed into law this year that better protect our neighbors.
