SEPTEMBER 16, 8:30 - 9 AM: ENERGY SAVINGS AT HOME

Start your day with a bite-sized nugget of cutting-edge research. On a Wednesday from 8:30–9 a.m., enjoy your morning coffee with a splash of “aha” and a spoonful of “fascinating” with the University of Minnesota Extension's Department of Community Development.

What uses the most power in your house? Join Extension to learn about energy savings at home. The Clean Energy Resource Teams will present on taking control of your home utility bills. They will explore exactly what uses the most power in your living space and share practical, inexpensive steps to maximize your comfort across all Minnesota seasons.

It is free and open to all.

📢 Community Update: National Opioid Settlement

Renville County is inviting community members to learn more about the National Opioid Settlement and the settlement funds the County will receive.

Join us on Tuesday, September 22, from 2:30–3:00 p.m. to learn about:
🔹 The National Opioid Settlement
🔹 Settlement funds Renville County will receive
🔹 Requirements for how these dollars can be spent

There will also be an opportunity for community members to share feedback and provide input directly to Renville County.

Birch Cooley Township Treasurer Retires After 63 Years!

Robert Tretbar served as Treasurer for Birch Cooley Township, Renville County for 63 years. Bob’s decades of service reflect a deep commitment to local government and the township he calls home. He has lived his entire life in the township, aside from his military service in the Navy. Bob is also the longest serving member of the Franklin Legion Club.

Bob was recently honored in recognition of his many years of service and lasting contributions to Birch Cooley Township.
