⚠️ POWER CONSERVATION ALERT ⚠️
Due to warmer-than-normal temperatures, generation outages, and renewable energy forecast conditions within the MISO Transmission and Balancing Authority, a voluntary Power Conservation Alert has been issued.
🗓️ Effective: June 8, 2026🕛 Time: 12:00 PM – 10:00 PM EST
We encourage all residents and businesses to voluntarily reduce electricity use during this time. Conserving energy helps lower overall demand, supports grid reliability, and can help reduce utility costs for our community over time.
Here are a few simple ways you can help:
✅ Raise your thermostat by 2–3 degrees✅ Limit the use of large appliances such as dishwashers, dryers, and ovens✅ Turn off nonessential lights and electronics✅ Close doors to unused rooms and keep blinds and curtains closed to help keep the heat out
This is a voluntary conservation effort intended to help mitigate the effects of tight power supply and transmission conditions. Every small action makes a difference, and the more people who participate, the greater the impact for our community.

Thank you for doing your part to help conserve energy and support our community.
KYMEA's goal is to provide Public Power for Kentucky through cost-effective practices and reliable sources of electricity.
